Collating a bunch of recipes received from family and friends during a WhatsApp forward challenge. Haven't tried this one yet.
You can use your own measurements based on the quantity you need......
I just cook with my own judgement ......
Bansi rawa or roasted upma rawa 2 cups
Chopped onion 1/2 onion
Chopped green chili 4
Chopped tomato 1 medium size
Chopped spinach (little, not too much 3 hand fulls)
Some fresh or frozen peas 1/2 a cup
Paneer cubes ( 20 or so cubes)
Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
Salt to taste
1 or 1 1/2 tsp biryan masala ( adjust it according to the taste)
Ghee 1tsp
Whole masala for tempering
Small piece of dalchini
2 elaichi
4 laung
1/4 tsp shah jeera
In a pan heat some oil. Add the whole masala and let it sizzle a bit.
Add onion and green chilies and sauté till the onion are transparent for a few minutes. You can add salt along with the onions. Once the onion are slightly cooked add ginger garlic paste and sauté for a minute or so. Now add peas and spinach and cook till the water from the spinach has evaporated.
Add tomato and cook till they get mushed. Now add the biryani masala, paneer cubes, and 4 cups of water and let it come to a boil.
Check for salt and biryani masala. You can add more if needed at this point.
Slowly keep adding the rawa and stirring the rawa into the boiling water. Add a spoon of ghee on top.
Cover and cook for 4-5 minutes on medium flame.
Ones all the water is soaked up, slowly mix it or kinda fluff up the rawa.
Turn off the heat and let it rest for a few minutes.
Enjoy it hot with some plain yogurt or boondi raitha ....
You can use any veggies of your choice...
