Collating a bunch of recipes received from family and friends during a WhatsApp forward challenge. Haven't tried this one yet.
Ingredients : brinjal - 1/4kg, chana dal - 1 cup, onions - 1 big one, green chillies - 3-4, method - heat 3-4 table spoons of oil in a pressure pan add 2-3 cloves, 2 elaichi, 1inch of dalchini now add finely chopped onion and fry it till it looses it's moisture now add green chillies and one full table spoon of ginger garlic paste after its fried add brinjal pieces (long cuts), add salt tumeric and red chilli powder according to the taste keep stirring on low flame until the brinjal takes in the ingredients added now add chana dal (it's better to soak them in warm water for around 10-15 mts so that they are soft cooked), mix well let dal take the masala now add some water (1cup or the mixture is a little soaked), shut the lid and cook in the medium flame for 2-3 whistles. After pressure cooking add 1/2 spoon of garam masala and remove from the stove after you get the required consistency lastly add finely chopped coriander & curry leaves
